"I
wanted to follow up to let you know how thankful I am for all
your help to get my mother an apartment as fast as you did. And
to
let you know that she is slowly improving thanks to all the wonderful
help at TH! We had a doctor's appointment yesterday and she has
gained over 5 pounds since moving into her apartment! She still
has
a ways to go but I am optimistic given her new environment and
all the help she has available to her. As I think I told you,
I had to take a significant amount of time off work to care for
her in early June. If I hadn't done that, and if we would have
had to wait
much longer for an apartment, she probably would have landed
in the hospital because she was getting to the point that she
would was just staying in bed all day and would not eat or take
her meds.
It would have been so hard for me to continue caring for her
much longer - I think your efforts played a part in saving her
life,
literally."

"My
sister and I feel that Thornton Hall is a very special place
for our father. The staff makes him and all other residents feel
very
special.
They have a
real knack for assessing and encouraging Dad's
talent. Once they discovered his talents in art and music, Dad
was asked to paint a picture of the new covered walkway which was
then framed and hung in Thornton Hall; his notecards made from
his paintings were included for sale in the gift shop; he had his
own art show for friends, family and residents, and he regularly
plays his saxophone for the enjoyment of his fellow residents.
He is now teaching bridge to a small group of teenagers. All this
keeps him mentally and physically active.
The entire staff
shows love, concern, and patience for Dad, as well as understanding
the concerns and anxieties of family members. They always put make
sure that our father's days are positive
and meaningful, and we truly appreciate this."
