"My
sister and I feel that Thornton Hall is a very special place for
our father. The staff makes him and all other residents feel very
special.
They have a
real knack for assessing and encouraging Dad’s
talent. Once they discovered his talents in art and music, Dad
was asked to paint a picture of the new covered walkway which was
then framed and hung in Thornton Hall; his notecards made from
his paintings were included for sale in the gift shop; he had his
own art show for friends, family and residents, and he regularly
plays his saxophone for the enjoyment of his fellow residents.
He is now teaching bridge to a small group of teenagers. All this
keeps him mentally and physically active.
The entire staff
shows love, concern, and patience for Dad, as well as understanding
the concerns and anxieties of family members. They always put make
sure that our father’s days are positive
and meaningful, and we truly appreciate this."
